Yhaneek Douglas-Mattis is a Nurse Practitioner at a leading level one trauma hospital in the southeast where she utilizes her skills in the Cardiovascular ICU. Yhaneek believes that we are the sum of our parts such that different range of modalities are instrumental in one’s personal development. That said, she utilizes her expertise in property management, surgical first assistant, nursing experience and most important motherhood in developing Proof to create a product for different skin tones for children and adults. Proof was birth out of her role as a mother to develop a product that was all natural for her children to promote healthy skin as well as to help alleviate the dryness caused from eczema that was troublesome for her children. Yhaneek’s education includes a dual MS in Nursing (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)/ Registered Nurse First Assistant from The University of Alabama with certification from the ANCC. Yhaneek continues to thrive at the hospital where her professional career began, and it is with similar dedication that she seeks to provide the best product possible for her customers and family. Her current position in the medical field requires Yhaneek to be meticulous in her approach to care which shows beyond a shadow that she is rightfully positioned to excel in this endeavor. Perhaps her love for chemistry also played a huge role in the product development.
Outside the medical world Yhaneek is a wife to her husband 17 years and mother to three children ages 14, 10 and 4. Yhaneek values family, commitment, character and these values are evident in the way she provides care for her patients and their family members. She is committed to upholding a high standard of care and exemplifies a character that sees the humanness of all. Yhaneek enjoys vacationing with her family and trying food from different cultures. It is quite amusing in that she will literally travel just to experience food from other cultures! The adage comes to focus as it relates to Yhaneek and Proof “a shoemaker does not have good shoes because he’s busy making for others.” It is in like manner that Yhaneek is often reminded through the busyness ‘don’t forget to lotion!’ What is salient and should not go unnoted is the fact that since developing Proof this has been the only product line that she and her family have used on their skin. Her customers who have become part of the Proof family have also joined in the love for her products.
